What Art Movement Are You?

I found this cool personality test on Melanie Faith's blog, A Quiet Symphony. It's put out by Blogthings, which has a whole lot of other amusing self-analysis thingies you can spend ALL your spare time on! Mel came out an Impressionist (good one, Mel! Suits you!). And here's mine (won't Teresa be proud of me!)--I'm a Surrealist:

You Are Surrealism

Dreamy and idealistic, you've created a world that is all your own.

It's very likely that you've either dabbled in drugs or are naturally trippy.

You are always trying to push beyond the boundaries of your culture and society.

You believe that art, love, and freedom can change the world.

  1. I'm supposedly expressionism.

    Actually, I love fine art.

  2. Cool, Jean-Luc! I never would have chosen that movement for you. Well, there you go... Yes, I love fine art too. I loved visiting the various art galleries in London and seeing original pieces by Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, Blake, Constable, and Tait.

  3. I'm an expressionism too...which is weird 'cause I like fine art as well! LOL I thought that was weird 'til I read JeanLuc's comments! :)

  5. Apparently I'm a Minimalist. However I later realised I forgot to tick any of the boxes. :p

  7. Beaman, you MUST be a minimalist! (You rascal!)... I just love London, Jean-Luc. Want to go back soon. But first, Paris! I go in April.

Oh, by the way, I figured out what you said that put you into expressionism... For #4 you said "a brooding poet" right? and/or for # 5 you said "happy art with bright colours" ... you should probably compare notes with Drowsey Monkey... maybe this is a common trait of those who purportedly love "fine art"... could be a thesis here for some bright art student... ;)

  8. Well, I did say brooding poet, but I answered old fashioned & conventional to the other. Makes me sound rather boring & depressed, LOL LOL

  9. HAR, Drowsey! I'm sure it was "brooding poet" that put you there! So, here's my question, girl... what compelling poetry have you stashed away in your closet that you may wish to show us? What I'd give to be a brooding poet...

  11. You're very welcome, Gregorio. I too was surprised when I turned out a "surrealist"... I'd always thought of myself as an "impressionist"...
